| Travemünder
Woche (famous annual week at the end of July) This event is
worldwide the second biggest sailing show with over one million
visitors. 300 sailling fanatics from 16 nations will come
with more than 850 ships. You find 10-days-parties, several
stages with different styles of entertainment, fireworks and
shows for the whole family.
Sandworld festival (July, the 9th to September,
the 15th, 2004)70 internationally wellknown artists will create
sand sculptures up to a hight of 15meters in an area of 5000
m² . They will use more than 8 million kilograms of sand.

Outdoors |
The beach of Travemünde is 4,5 kilometers
long and offers a very fine clean sand. At the Brodtener
cliff in the north you have an amazing view over the whole
bay. In the south you will find Germany`s deepest point
at the Hemmelsdorfer See, and you can enjoy protected nature,
that shows you what this area was like before people started
to cultivate it.
